HP VICTUS 16-e0031ns
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I'm new to the forum.

I recently bought an HP Victus that came without OS and I'm trying to install Windows 10. I have created the bootable USB (I have no DVD reader so that's not an option) using windows official tool and tried to boot my computer, but I keep getting the same error: "A media driver your computer needs is missing". Most solutions I've found include:

Changing the USB port and/or the USB, creating the bootable USB again. No result

Downloading the Intel RST, but the processor is an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H and I guess htat would not work.

Tweaking the BIOS configuration, but I can't find the options suggested elsewhere such as disabling secure boot or legacy USB.

I have no idea on how to proceed, this should be straightforward but I can't figure out what I am missing.

Thank you all

Hello Cborreda,

(1) Please create 2 usb bootable windows 10 sticks

(a) USB 2.0 stick

(b) USB 3.0 stick

(2) Enter the BIOS of your HP Victus and load Setup Defaults.

Try again with (a) and (b)

Please report your results.

best regards

you’ll have to download the cloud recovery tool on a working machine, input your product ID located on the bottom of the laptop and create a recovery USB. I just went through all this haha 😅😅

So since I had already tried with different USB 2.0, I bought a 3.0 stick and it worked with no problem at all. Thank you!
