Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing a firmware bug on my HP ZBook Firefly 14 G7 (SKU: SBKPFV3) with BIOS version S73 Ver. 01.23.00 (November 5, 2025).

Symptoms:

Laptop occasionally fails to power on – fans spin, charging indicator blinks, but no display

Sometimes takes days or multiple power cycles before it boots

Running Fedora Linux 43 (Kernel 6.19.8)

ACPI Errors (every boot):

text
ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Could not resolve symbol [\_TZ.ETMD], AE_NOT_FOUND
ACPI Error: Aborting method \_SB.IETM._OSC due to previous error (AE_NOT_FOUND)
What I've Tried:

EC reset (20-second power button hold) – temporary fix

Updated to latest BIOS (S73 Ver. 01.23.00) – issue persists

Verified with NVIDIA driver logs – GPU power management fails due to missing ACPI methods

Request:
Has anyone else seen this on a ZBook Firefly G7? I believe this is a BIOS ACPI bug. Is there a way to escalate this to HP's engineering team for a fix?

Full system details:

Product: HP ZBook Firefly 14 G7 Mobile Workstation

BIOS: S73 Ver. 01.23.00 (11/05/2025)

CPU: Intel Core i7-10610U

GPU: Intel UHD Graphics + Quadro P520

Happy to provide any additional logs. Thanks
