Hi @Bradbell,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you are encountering an abnormal status reported by the Rapid Storage Technology UEFI driver on your HP Laptop PC 15s, it indicates that there may be an issue with the storage controller or the driver itself. The Rapid Storage Technology (RST) driver is responsible for managing storage devices, including hard drives and solid state drives, on your computer.

To troubleshoot and resolve this issue, you can follow these steps.

  • Update the driver: Visit the official HP support website and search for the latest Rapid Storage Technology driver for your specific model of the HP Laptop PC 15s. Download and install the driver update to ensure you have the most recent version.
  • Reinstall the driver: If updating the driver does not resolve the issue, try reinstalling the Rapid Storage Technology driver. First, uninstall the existing driver from your system. Go to the "Device Manager" by right-clicking on the "Start" button and selecting it from the menu. Expand the "Storage controllers" category, right-click on the Rapid Storage Technology driver, and select "Uninstall device." Restart your laptop and then install the driver again using the latest version downloaded from the HP website.
  • Check for firmware updates: In some cases, a firmware update for your storage controller may be available. Check the HP support website for any firmware updates specific to your laptop model. If an update is available, follow the instructions provided by HP to install the firmware update.
  • Perform a system scan: Run a thorough system scan using your installed antivirus software to check for any malware or viruses that could be causing conflicts with the storage controller. Make sure your antivirus software is up to date with the latest virus definitions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
