Hi Folks, I got a recent (mandatory) Windows 10 update and began receiving this message on startup:
AccelerometerSt.exe - System Error
The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140.dll was
not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.
The only possible effect I've noticed is that my desktop icons had been randomly realigned after a restart, and I can't seem to place them manually, even though "auto align icons" and "align icons to grid" are turned off.
Windows Support suggested it was an HP driver issue. Any ideas?
Thank you!

Hi:
Open the Windows Control Panel, select Programs and Features, right click the entry for the HP 3D DriveGuard, and select Uninstall.
When this has completed, restart the notebook.
When you are at the Windows desktop, download and install this version of HP 3D DriveGuard at the link below, and restart the PC.

Thanks, Paul. The error message no longer appears, but I am still having trouble moving icons on my desktop. Do you have any suggestions, or can you point me in the direction of someone who might?
Thanks again!

Experienced an issue with updating HP Accelerometer update (Article ID 10581) in Window's 10. The Virtual Agent directed me to Paul the expert to resolve. Thanks Paul for your expert advice. It worked for me. Eugene
