I have been trying to get the Linus Mint 22.1 (and earlier versions) to boot from the HDD. It boots up from the USB live stick but doesn't recognise the OS on the hard drive.  I did get it to boot up once and was able to save test items which remained saved after two restarts and one shutdown and reboot. after a shut down and few hours break, it no longer would boot and saved items had gone.

My main problem is that most of the suggested fixes require Bios access.  On my machine, F10 takes me into the Bios Menu but I can on;y make changes to the time, date and Boot Order.  I don't have an Advance tab or anything.

Is there a way to get into the settings suggested by the boot repair report?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

The current session is in BIOS-compatibility mode. Please disable BIOS-compatibility/CSM/Legacy mode in your UEFI firmware

Please do not forget to make your UEFI firmware boot on the Linux Mint 22.1 Xia (22.1) entry (sdb2/efi/****/grub****.efi (**** will be updated in the final message) file) !
The boot of your PC is in BIOS-compatibility/CSM/Legacy mode. You may want to retry after changing it to UEFI mode
