I'll be honest, InsydeH20 is the worst BIOS I've ever used. It apparently locks locks up features every other BIOS has. I can't even change the SATA mode! Every BIOS i've ever used never missed a feature like that. They basically tried to simplify it so much that the core features that people use the BIOS to change, are completely missing. The only way I found to add the features was through the Windows Regedit app. I don't have Windows, I have Ubuntu. Am I screwed over? If there is nothing I can do to put it back, how to I get rid of the pile of trash that is called InsydeH20? If there's no way, I might as well get something better so I can do it.

@jkrosado Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you would like to Add the BIOS SATA Mode to InsydeH20.

Do not worry. We will try to fix the issue.

According to the specifications of your laptop went with Windows 10.

Please revert back to Windows 10. We don't support ubuntu as off now.

You can make use of a recovery media to install the OEM.

If you would like to flash the BIOS, perform the below steps.

  1. Restart your notebook.
  2. During startup, press F10 repeatedly until the BIOS menu is displayed.
  3. Once the BIOS menu is displayed, press F9 to restore factory defaults.
  4. Select Yes to confirm.
  5. Press F10 to save changes and exit.
  6. Select Yes to confirm.
  7. The computer restarts using the default settings.
