My AD account for my previous job was deactivated, but they let me keep the computer. Now I cannot login to the computer because there is no option for anything other than the previous AD login. Can anyone help?

Thank You,

Alex

That said, it was unfortunate that people giving you the notebook did not provide for you creating your own account before they dumped the AD account.

Meh.

Assuming you can prove ownership, a licensed Microsoft Technician can likely provide access to the machine without wiping out all the data / content.

Physically transporting your machine to a technician might be tough right now - so much is still closed due to the Covid-19 Pandemic...  If you can get through to Microsoft on the phone - and again, in some way prove you have rights to the machine, they might be able to help.

All else fails, eventually things will open up again - that means you could take the computer to a licensed technician in your local region.

Be careful - a real Microsoft licensed technician has an actual license - they are required to work to a code of Ethics - someone else might be able to do the work - but, you know, you don't want just anybody putting their nose into your computer and sniffing at your data.
