HP Envy x360 convert
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have an HP Envy x360 that I recently purchased for work. It came with Windows 10 Home (with a free upgrade to Windows 11, which I have done). However, Windows 11 Home, does not support joining to domains. I have tried to install Windows 10 Pro, but when you get to the page that displays the drives to install windows, no disks are being picked up, even tried looking for the disk in diskpart, still no luck. It only shows my 8GB flash drive that the windows ISO is loaded on. I tried changing the SATA Controller in the BIOS, by much to my disappointment, HP does not have an "Advanced" tab for me to do that. The laptop did come with a NVMe SSD. Not sure if that itself is the problem? I also noticed that in my device manager, I am missing the IDE/ATAPI Controller section. Is this normal?

Anyone have solution to my problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi@Ry4n1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are not getting the Advanced option in Bios on the HP Envy X360 Convert PC.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • Try doing Recovery from HP shipped USB Recovery kit or using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Click here for the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10) link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
