Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit)
My laptop froze in the middle of a YouTube video. Afterwards a blue screen popped with a 'sad face' emoticon saying that my computer has encountered a problem and needs to restart. I waited for 15 minutes then nothing happened. The screen went blank, as if it restarting. Then, an error pops up - 'Version 1.6.0.0 - BIOS, for more information, please visit: www.hp.com/go/techcenter/PCD i ags, There are three options listed - *Memory Test, Hard drive Check, Language and Exit. Please help 😞

Run the memory test and hard drive test in your preferred language and post back results.

Thank you for your response. The memory test came with the results *Passed*. I subsequently did the hard-drive test and same stated ' Smart Check:Not Installed, Long DST:Not Installed. Kindly advise.

Unfortunately it means the test cannot find a drive to work on so apparently the hard drive is electrically dead.

same thing happend to me and do you know if i need to buy and new hard drive and where can i buy it?
