I'm not sure what caused this, I was doing a fairly standard Windows Update and hadn't noticed a BIOS update as part of that, but as soon as the laptop rebooted it persistently loops as shown in the video.

 

None of the suggested keypress combinations to bring up a BIOS menu works.

 

In order to shut-down this loop I have to press & hold the power button as the loop gets to the final screen.

 

I've tried creating a bootable BIOS update USB stick, using a Toshiba laptop, the downloaded file extracts the utility executable but the utility executable will never start.

None of the key combinations make any difference and the BIOS_Update appliction doesn't run on the only other computer that I have that uses Windows 10.

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/ 
2) Select your product type below.
3) Enter the serial of your device. 
4) Select the country from the drop-down. 
5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences. 
6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.
