After Windows update, BIOS update loops
07-08-2021 01:34 PM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=td6_ZiXo2C0
I'm not sure what caused this, I was doing a fairly standard Windows Update and hadn't noticed a BIOS update as part of that, but as soon as the laptop rebooted it persistently loops as shown in the video.
None of the suggested keypress combinations to bring up a BIOS menu works.
In order to shut-down this loop I have to press & hold the power button as the loop gets to the final screen.
I've tried creating a bootable BIOS update USB stick, using a Toshiba laptop, the downloaded file extracts the utility executable but the utility executable will never start.

None of the key combinations make any difference and the BIOS_Update appliction doesn't run on the only other computer that I have that uses Windows 10.
