The original motherboard would not boot at all. I would get the 3 blinking light code on the caps lock button. I replaced the motherboard with a new one. No error codes but still no post. I have no idea where to go next. Can anyone please help?
Rob.

Good Day. Thank you for posting your query in the Hp community. I will be glad to assist here. Great troubleshooting. Kudos to you for that.
- Are there any lights on the keyboard or the computer now?
- Is the power button lit or does the fan spin?
- Is there a light by the charging port where the charger plugs in?
This looks like a hardware issue. Please perform a hard reset on the computer by following directions from here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01684768
Now check if it boots up. If it continues, then I will send you a private message to assist you with the next course of action. Check your forum private message box in the upper right corner next to the bell icon.
Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂
