Hello everybody!
I have an HP 15-DA0011LA Notebook
Product: 3PX36LA
Windows 11
2 days ago my computer was updated using Windows Update.
Among the updates was an update to the BIOS version F.49 , my computer had the F.43 version.
I have 2 hard drives installed on my computer, 1 NVMe and an 1HDD
After the update, the BIOS no longer detected my Crucial NVMe hard drive where I have the operating system installed and now it only detects the SATA hard drive.
I have tried to perform a BIOS restore to the F.43, but I get the error that says "Restore has failed, Unable to open the Bios signature file"
I've searched HP's website for software and drivers, but the only BIOS update version is F.48. I have searched for the F.49 version but I can't find it.
Is there a way to fix the BIOS so that it detects my NVMe hard drive again?
I'm desperate because I need the computer to work and I can't boot Windows
Thank you

Check BIOS Settings
- Turn on your laptop and enter BIOS
- Press F10 repeatedly as soon as you power it on.
- Check Storage Configuration
- Navigate to Advanced > Storage Configuration.
- Ensure that M.2/NVMe is enabled.
- Check Boot Mode
- Go to Boot Options and verify that it's set to UEFI Mode (if Windows was installed in UEFI).
- Save & Exit (Press F10 to save changes).
Reset BIOS to Default
- Enter BIOS by pressing F10 on startup.
- Select Restore Defaults or Load Optimized Defaults.
- Save and Exit (F10).
- Restart and check if the NVMe drive is detected.
Try an Older BIOS Version (Rollback)
If the NVMe SSD is still not detected, try rolling back to an older BIOS version.
HP BIOS Recovery
- Turn off the laptop and press Windows + B, then hold the Power Button for a few seconds.
- The screen should display HP BIOS Recovery Mode.
- Follow on-screen instructions to revert to the previous BIOS version.
Download F.48 (Older BIOS)

Thank you so much for your help! However, all the BIOS advanced configuration options you mentioned disappeared after the update, and I am unable to access them. I will attach backup images for reference.
I’ve also tried performing the BIOS recovery through a USB, but I’m encountering an error stating that it’s not possible to revert to a previous version. It seems the F49 update has a bug causing these issues. I’m really worried because everything was working perfectly with version F43. This update was done through Windows Update, and that’s why I didn’t notice it sooner.
The BIOS only recognizes my SATA HDD where I have my documents and files. But the OS is installed on my NVMe SSD.
Thank you again for your support. I truly appreciate your assistance.

In a desperate attempt I saw that the BIOS update version F46 includes other additional models to the HP 15 Laptop, so I looked for a BIOS update (F50 available) for the 256 G7 model and when downloading the BIOS file it did give me the option to update. After about 30 minutes of updating the PC restarted and recognized the nvme2 hard drive again, however I had to format the partition to be able to use it. Now I'm installing windows again. I think that these models by sharing updates in a certain way helped to repair my PC, although on the HP website the latest BIOS update is F48, I used F50 from another mode notebook and it worked. I leave this in case someone has the same problem as me.
