Hello!
I saw that there was a BIOS update on the HP support page for my Spectre 360. Followed the instructions, but the computer never rebooted since. The Caps Lock light blinks in a 2 times slow / 2 times quick pattern and nothing else happen. Tried a hard reset and to a BIOS recovery, both without success. Haven't tried a USB bios recovery because I need to get access to another computer for this. Understood that the blinking pattern indicates that a physical repair? As the warranty expired just a month ago, and just did the recommended bios update. What should I do, please?
Thanks
Olivier

Hi
You have tried these?
Please 1st try a Hard Reset
Press and Hold the PWR off button for 4 seconds to force a PWR off.
Unplug from the wall.
If you see a battery compartment door, your computer has a removable battery.
Remove any removable battery.
This is valid for most notebooks;
Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to complete the reset.
Re-insert any battery you removed.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02693833
Turn off the notebook.
Plug the notebook into a power source using the power adapter.
With the notebook off, press and hold the Windows logo key and the B key at the same time (WinKey +B).
NB: On some notebook models, it might be necessary to press and hold the Windows logo key and the V key (WinKey +V).
While pressing those keys, press and hold the Power button on the computer for 2 to 3 seconds, and then release the Power button but continue to hold the Windows logo key and the B or V key until the HP BIOS update screen displays or you hear a beeping sound (usually 8 beeps).

So kind of you to take this time.
Yes, I tried this hard reset and bios recovery, unsuccessfully.
The blinking codes seems to indicate a hardware failure. Which is a pity.
As that I already updated bios many times on my various laptops in my life and first time this is happening. Lack of luck. Of course, few weeks only after the warranty was finished.
I would like to if they are any known issue about this most recent bios update. And if a USB bios reset might work. Or any other solution? Or I have simply to pay for a HP technician to have a look at it.
Thanks
Olivier

Hi
So...
Caps Lock/Num Lock LED Component Tested Error Condition
LEDs blink 1 time | CPU | CPU not functional |
LEDs blink 2 times | BIOS | BIOS corruption failure |
LEDs blink 3 times | Memory | Module error not functional |
LEDs blink 4 times | Graphics | Graphics controller not functional |
LEDs blink 5 times | System board | General system board failure |
LEDs blink 6 times | BIOS | BIOS authentication failure |
So if its the 2 BIOS corruption then please link to where you got the BIOS and I'll try and take a look.
Can you give the SKU and Board SSID please.
System SKU N7K06EA#ABU and Board SSID 8130 for me.

Hi
The SKU is just a more targeted reference then a model number.
But this may well be long-winded, so you have said it's a...

I have downloaded and inspected and cannot see anything wrong, but I cannot run the Flash drive.
So I am having to await your attempt at making a Flash Drive, and offer help at that point.

Hi
Yes I do.
Corruption may only be firmware fault, and not a physical damage.
When you get the ability to make a flash drive the process should be a few minutes to make and a few more to install, less then 30 in total.

Hi! Thanks for you patience and optimism!
If that could work, this would be amazing! Let's try!
Working to get this done with a friend that have a working Windows 10 PC (as I don't have one anymore!)
Should be ready to try by tonight.
Are these more of the computers details you were looking for?
