When I was looking for the replaceable wifi from the guide in HP Dm4-1265Dx to replace the Intel® Centrino® Advanced–N + WiMAX 6250 that I currently am having on the system, I noticed that the AR9265 is on the whitelist, and I do have some questions related to this wifi model.
1. There are 2 models of AR9265, one with Bluetooth and one without Bluetooth. If I install the Bluetooth one, will the computer boot?
2. If the computer does boot up with the bluetooth model, will the computer recognize Bluetooth that came alongside with the AR9265 model?
The reason I need to change is because I need to test a working wifi that is supported in macOS and is whitelisted by the computer, and the AR9265 is the only available choice for me.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you for replying with this detailed response 😉
I appreciate your time and efforts,
As I mentioned earlier, you can upgrade to the parts listed above,
If it contains the wireless card with Bluetooth, it will work and yes, you don't have to search for the drivers separately as it's a part of the same package available on the HP website for software and downloads.
I hope that answers your question.

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
As I understand you need information on wireless adapter replacement,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Did you refer to the upgrade & Maintenance guide?
Click here to access the guide for your model, if you haven't.
Here are the Integrated wireless local area network (WLAN) options by way of wireless module tested and supported for your model:
- Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000 802.11b/g/n 1x2
- Atheros AR9285 802.11 a/b/g/n 2x2 WiFi adapter
- Intel® Centrino® Advanced–N + WiMAX 6250
- Broadcom 43224AGN 802.11a/b/g/draft-n WiFi Adapter
- Broadcom 4313AGN 802.11a/b/g/draft-n WiFi Adapter
- Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and 2070 Bluetooth 2.1+EDR Combo Adapter
- Realink RT3090BC4 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR Combo Adapter
That said, you should be able to upgrade to any of the above wireless card,
Regardless of the whitelist information as the above parts are tested and approved by HP,
Which means the bluetooth should work if the wireless card has one on it.
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.

Yeah whoops, I mispelled the wifi name in my thread.
But still, I see that the Atheros AR9285 has 2 models, one is AR5B95 (Which is the AR9285 wifi but doesn't come with Bluetooth), and one is AR5B195 (Which comes with bluetooth along with the wifi AR3011).
I would like to ask that:
1. Which wifi card will not lock my BIOS when I install, between the one with Bluetooth or the one without bluetooth, or both?
Since the wifi model referred in the manual only says "Atheros AR9285 802.11 a/b/g/n 2x2 WiFi adapter" without referring to the non-bluetooth or bluetooth model.
2. (In case if the bluetooth model can work on my laptop) Will I be able to install both Bluetooth and Wifi from the driver listed on this webpage: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-dm4-1200-entertainment-notebook-pc-seri... or I have to search for a separate driver?
Thanks in advanced :3.
