HP 240 G3 Notebook
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)
Booted my laptop up to see the words Automatic Repair. Clicked everything I needed to click to set the process in motion and left it on the screen where it says "Updating your system". It's been on 1% for ages and has rebooted itself several times just for the process to restart. How do I stop this from happening continuously? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I only bought it 2 months ago for work

Immediately after powering on start tapping the Esc key. This will open a menu where F2 System Diagnostics is an option. Tap F2 key and run the tests.
