Hi @Smouw1

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Apologies for the trouble you're facing. If your HP Envy laptop is stuck in Automatic Repair, it usually indicates a boot issue, possibly due to corrupted system files or hardware problems.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot:

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the laptop and unplug it.
  • Hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power.
  • Reconnect and power it on.

Boot into Safe Mode

  • Restart the laptop and force shutdown twice when the HP logo appears.
  • On the third boot, select Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Enable Safe Mode.

Run Startup Repair

  • In Advanced Options, select Startup Repair to let Windows attempt a fix.

Use Command Prompt for System File Checks

  • Open Command Prompt from Advanced Options.
  • Run: sfc /scannow (checks for corrupted system files).
  • Run: chkdsk /f /r (checks for disk errors).

Uninstall Recent Updates

  • If the issue started after an update, go to Advanced Options > Uninstall Updates.

Perform a System Restore

  • If restore points exist, revert to an earlier state via System Restore.

Reset Windows (Last Resort)

  • If nothing works, choose Reset this PC (keep or remove personal files).

Let me know if you need further assistance!
