Hi there, I am located in Indonesia and I require an SMC.bin file for resetting the bios password for an EliteBook 2570p. I contacted HP support in Indonesia but the only option they provide is to send the machine and it will cost ~$160 for the repairs. I raised a support ticket with HP in the US - Case ID is [edited] but they said since the machine is not bought in the US they could not help. Could HP kindly provide me an SMC.bin file so that I can reset the password using the procedure "BIOS Password Reset using SMC.bin file"

Hi:
Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP will no longer supply the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.
That was the only way it could be done.
Most HP business notebooks including the one you have, do not generate system disabled codes.
Also, removing the CMOS battery will not clear the P/W.
HP issued this document recently...

The forum rules were amended on 1 March 2019, which no longer allow us to help with removing passwords.
Rule 4.d...
d. No posts shall include instructions or directions intended to bypass or subvert security measures, including passwords, locking mechanisms, fingerprint scans, etc., or to bypass any safety measures.
