HP Zbook 15
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hi,

Wanted a clean windows install, but the BIOS is locked. I did some searching online and there apparently is a method that involves a halt code. After three times hitting the enter-key, no code appears, only a raster with letters, numbers, etc. I can still type something and the "*" appears below the raster as a type a character.

How can I get past this BIOS password?

HP Zbook 15 model number: HSTNN-C77C

Hope someone knows how to help me.

Kind regards,

Hi:

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP will no longer supply the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.

That was the only way it could be done.

HP issued this document recently...

Also the forum rules were amended on 1 March 2019, which no longer allow us to help with removing BIOS passwords.

Rule 4.d...
