OMEN Laptop - 15-dh1005na
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

hoping someone might be able to save me from insanity. I have a 2.5 year old Omen 15 DH1005NA with Windows 11 installed (so no warranty). Working fine up until this morning when a System Bios Recovery failed (503) message appeared. Nothing unusual about the last shutdown. After attempting the standard turn it of and on again the message kept appearing.

Tried everything listed here https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/ish_3932413-2337994-16 and eventually using manual USB method worked and i got into Windows. Now is where the real problems start. I rebooted the laptop to make sure it was boot up (which i now regret) and initially it took a few boot attempts but Windows loaded however it BSOD'ed shortly afterwards, and now the laptop wont boot at all.

Turn it on and only the power light comes on (black screen no keyboard lights) and you can faintly hear the fans spin up for about 5 seconds then it goes off, comes back on for about 15 seconds then goes off, then comes back on, the screen comes on although its black and the fans come on at full pelt and that is all that happens.

I have tried to use the USB to recover the BIOS again but this no longer works, it gets about 30% through, then the laptop reboots and the sequence starts over again.

I think the motherboard is knackered but with no warranty replacing that is going to be expensive and painful, so hoping someone might have a clever idea i havent tried.

Thanks in advance

Andy
