HP Pavilion g4-2191se Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,
I have an HP Pavilion g4-2191 se Notebook PC, that originally came with Windows 7. However, when Windows 10 released a few years ago, I got it upgraded.

Now, I was searching for driver updates and doing usual system maintenance, and noticed that there is a newer BIOS update for my laptop, but it only lists the original OS (Windows 7) that it came with in the operating systems tab. Will I still be able to safely update the BIOS ? I don't want to brick my laptop.

Most likely -- NOT -- because HP distributes their BIOS updates in self-extracting files and those check the OS version before running.  This means that updates written to run under Win7 will not run under Win10.
