As already posted in the general forums, I need a generic password from HP to eliminate this encapsulated password which I never needed before... BIOS update with HP tools via a flash USB went OK but the problem remains : "enter admin/power password". PC has been bought last year officially (if needed I can show the invoice) and the problem occured when installing Win 10 Pro (official licence & SW) - as the installation succeeded - and also Office 365 should be running : I don't want to loose my investements !
I already had a detailed reply from an HP advisor - but the proposed process is to contact an HP-expert by phone. However, in the process which I followed (on my desktop PC) asks first for a serial or product number - not a single sticker is visible on the back of it - and I wouldn't know how to open this laptop to look inside...
I see in other mails, that some passwords (numbers?) are given to passthru this issue.
Has any one a solution for me ? Not thru https://bios-pw.org/ - which doesn't work for me.
Thanks a lot !!

Hi
The generated code as you no doubt know is 34779909.
If you have the sales invoice then giving the Make Model and OS should be easy.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108
So the problem is a BIOS lockout, and a password is wanted?

Hi, and thanks for your reply... but no help to me ...
The code you gave me keeps saying "invalid password".
The video I looked at says using at start up "escape + fn" : this doesn't work either as the very first screen that appaeras is -again!- "neter admin passw....." I tried even to push these keys together before putting the power on - no help...
As to the invoice (from "laptopshop.be" - a Coolblue subsidiary) : is there a place where I can upload it ? I made a screenshot of it : not a single mention of serial of product number... Just the type of the computer : HP 17-p155nb Azerty
and a second line with "including "Bebat B210035390"...
Thanks again !

There is NO other way.
The ( i ) code and the ( HEX ) code have NOT been reversed engineered YET.
So no one on the forum has any way of providing you with a Master Pass Code.
The ONLY way at this time is to go to HP.
Sorry, but to tell you the truth HP support has no idea what to do.
All it would take is to use your code to generate the master code that was imbedded in your BIOS when it was manufactured.

Thanks again REO51ST!
I think I will give up - I'm so tired of reading, and reading, and trying without success!
The only thing I haven't tried is opening up the laptop and remove the CMOS/Battery for a while - what would be "the" solution to remove this embedded password : I don't have the tools for that... For the same reason, each time I try to go HP Support - under whatever section - they ask me for a serial/product number - which is inside the laptop.
A PC-repair shop seems to know the problem and says they can repair it - and of course charge me 150€... which is +/- 1/3rd of the price of this laptop... but I fear that they will delete the whole content, incl. my licences of Win10 Pro + Office365.
