HP ENVY 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-ep1000 IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

I added a second SSD. I added a Samsung 980Pro 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2.

I updated the BIOS to F.11.

Product Number is 322W9AV

The laptop will not recognize the 2nd SSD. I cannot locate a place in the BIOS to change to allow the 2nd SSD.

Samsung Magician also does not recognize the new SSD. I am using the latest version of Magician (7.0.1)

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Dummy me.

I partitioned and formated the drive and it works great.

Sorry if I cycled anyone.

How did you made the 2nd ssd to shows up?
I have your same laptop and tried to install a wd_black SN850 that is similar to your Samsung 980Pro but the system does not recognize it.

Can you help me with that?

HP Recommended

I will attempt.

Windows key  +Q , then Disk manager.

Does the drive appear?

If the drive appears, follow these instructions.

Good luck.

Unfortunately the drive does not appear in the Disk Manager.
Did you just plug the SSD in the slot or did you change something else in the BIOS or with the drivers?

HP Recommended

I did a scan for drivers updates and found a BIOS update F.11 Rev A
After the update the driver was visible in the Disk Manager
