i wnat to enter into the bios of my hp laptop, all the methods i have used haven't worked. when i press the esc button repeated during restart, instead of taking me to the start up menu, it takes me to a blue background and they ask me to choose an option and when i select troubleshoot and select advance and select UEFI Firmware settings, it loads and still takes me back to the same blue background and ask me to chose an option

@K28Q, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Use the F10 Key During Boot
- Turn off the laptop completely.
- Power on the laptop and immediately press the F10 key repeatedly. This is the standard key to access the BIOS on most HP laptops.
- Keep pressing F10 until the BIOS screen appears.
If F10 doesn’t work, try the following method.
Use the Esc Key for Startup Menu
- Turn off your laptop completely.
- Power on the laptop and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
- From the Startup Menu, press F10 to enter BIOS.
If this still takes you to the blue background, try the next steps.
Power reset
A Power reset could fix issues related to BIOS settings or access issues. This is a more advanced step.
- Turn off your laptop completely.
- Disconnect the power cord and remove the battery (if it's removable).
- Press and hold the power button for about 15-30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reinsert the battery and plug the power cord back in.
- Power on the laptop and immediately press F10 or Esc (repeatedly) during startup to check if the issue is resolved.

Disable Fast Boot/ Secure Boot from Windows Settings
If the laptop's fast boot or secure boot settings are interfering, you can attempt to disable them from Windows first and then try entering the BIOS.
- Boot into Windows (log in normally).
- Open the Start menu and type Settings.
- Go to Update & Security > Recovery.
- Under Advanced Startup, click on Restart now.
- After the restart, select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > UEFI Firmware Settings > Restart.
- If this still takes you to the blue screen, navigate to the Settings menu in Windows and check if "Fast Boot" is enabled and disable it. Also, check Secure Boot options.
Update BIOS (If You Have Access to Windows)
If you have access to Windows, it may be a good idea to try updating the BIOS to the latest version.
- Go to HP's official website and search for your model's support page.
- Download the latest BIOS update for your specific model.
- Follow the instructions on the website to perform the BIOS update.
Additional Notes:
- UEFI vs Legacy Mode: Some laptops have the option to boot either in UEFI or Legacy mode, which could impact how you access the BIOS. Ensure that UEFI is enabled (if applicable).
I hope these steps help resolve the issue
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
