Hi everybody
As I mentioned here , I can't "Legacy Support" option in BIOS setting, and I thought maybe it's becasue my BIOS is not updated the latest version (current: F.36 , latest: F.57)
I tried two ways but they were unsuccessful.
The first way was installing directly via setup :Screenshot (2).png

And the second way was using this document. It was failed too.
What should i do to get my BIOS updated ?

@HSILA,

I recommend you contact support as it looks like a hardware malfunction.

Here is how you can get in touch with the tech support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Good day! Take care 🙂

Cheers!

@HSILA,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details and I would appreciate if you could, perhaps elaborate on your concern.

  • Are you facing any other issue apart from updating the BIOS?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?

While you respond to that, I recommend you download and install HP support assistant from the below link and install all the updates. It will automatically update the BIOS.

Download link: https://www8.hp.com/in/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_in/en/any/psg/p...

Here is how it is done.

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

    Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

     Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

  6. Perform any other update management actions as needed.

    • Postpone an update: Click Remind me, and then select a time preference.

    • Delete an available update: Click the Delete icon  to remove the update from the list and record it in the action log.

    • Review updates status: Click Action log below the list to view installed, postponed, or deleted updates.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hi @The_Fossette

And thank you for your respond.

First I answer those 2 questions :

1- Yes , I have faced this problem.

2- Software change : I have reinstalled Microsoft Windows recently (With no hardware changes)

Next, I just did what you said , but (after refresh) there is no new update for BIOS in HP Support Assistant as you see below : Screenshot (4).png

But in this link from HP , it seems that there is a new version for my BIOS (F.57).

I'm confused :Crying:

@HSILA,

It is great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.

If HP support assistant is not able to find any BIOS update for your computer then it means that there is no update available. However, please help me with the product number for your computer and I will check whether there is any BIOS update available for your computer.

I await a response at your earliest convenience.

Good day! Take care 🙂

Cheers!

@HSILA,

Thank you for the information.

I see that there are a lot of BIOS releases for your computer and the BIOS version you are on right now is a pretty old version.

Let’s first install the BIOS version F.42 Rev.A from the below link and check if it helps.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71001-71500/sp71055.exe

Then let’s install all the BIOS updates one after the other from the below link. There are 4 BIOS updates before the latest release.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

@The_Fossette,

Unfortunately there is no HP support center where I currently live, it seems I should accept this malfunction.

Thank you for your help.

Good luck 🍀
