Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for explaining that so clearly—this kind of BIOS mismatch can definitely cause boot issues like the “Boot Device Not Found” error. You’ve done a lot already, and I can help guide you toward a fix. 🛠️
🔍 What’s Likely Happening
- The BIOS version you installed (meant for Windows 11 22H2) may not be fully compatible with your system running Windows 11 24H2.
- This can cause the system to lose track of the boot device or misconfigure UEFI/Legacy boot settings.
- The “Boot Device Not Found” error often points to a missing or misconfigured boot path in BIOS.
🧭 Steps to Recover Your Boot Device
1. Reset BIOS to Default
- Power off your laptop.
- Turn it on and immediately press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS Setup.
- Once inside, press F9 to load default settings.
- Press F10 to save and exit.
2. Check Boot Mode
- In BIOS, go to System Configuration > Boot Options.
- Make sure UEFI Boot is enabled (not Legacy).
- Confirm that your internal SSD is listed as a boot device.
3. Run HP BIOS Recovery
- Turn off the laptop.
- Press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds.
- Release all keys and wait—if successful, the BIOS recovery screen will appear.
You can follow this video walkthrough for visual guidance on BIOS recovery.
4. Reinstall Correct BIOS Version
- Visit the HP Support page and enter your serial number to detect the correct BIOS version for your exact model and OS version.
- If no BIOS is listed for 24H2, contact HP Support directly to request the correct firmware or rollback instructions.
🧠 Use HP Cloud Recovery Tool
If BIOS recovery doesn’t work and the boot device remains undetected:
- Use the HP Cloud Recovery Tool to reinstall Windows and restore factory firmware.
- You’ll need a second PC and a USB drive (at least 16GB).
You’re doing everything right—let’s get your system back on track! 💪
