HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab102np (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi.

My Pavilion 15-ab102np stopped booting after Friday windows update.

It gets stuck on the HP logo. Little dots show up but stop circling immediately.

Also unable to boot from recovery DVD, it starts but reboots after 1-2 min without any messages.

Someone told me about upgrading the BIOS.

Something about the EFI version.

Current BIOS version is F.45

But the drivers are no longer available on the site.

Is it possible to get the latest version of the BIOS into a flash drive and do the update ?

Thankyou!

Hi:

The latest BIOS update I could find for your notebook is F.54:

Info:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp97001-97500/sp97106.html

Exe:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp97001-97500/sp97106.exe

You can make a BIOS recovery flash drive using another Windows PC.

Watch these videos for how to create and use a BIOS recovery flash drive with the above exe file using another Windows PC:

Thankyou for your prompt reply.

The BIOS update is done.

But Windows now reports a BSOD with ACPI BIOS ERROR and don't start.

Any idea on how to solve this ?
