Product: HP EliteBook 840 G5 Base Model Notebook PC

Hi,

 

I have a HP Elitebook 840 G5, and a really like this laptop, but i do have some issues with it. 

I have a problem with my laptop because my bios is locked, and I bought it used.

Can someone help me contact hp support to somehow reset the bios password.

 

I am the second owner and I do not have a recipt.

Unfortunately, for problem with passwords you will need to contact an HP agent.

  • Sign in to your support page
  • Select the product you need help with and scroll down to support options.
  • Select "Contact us". You can change country and language if necessary.



Here is HP's official policy regarding BIOS passwords:
HP Business PCs - Forgotten or lost BIOS password | HP® Support

According to the Community's Rules of Participation:

4d. No posts shall include instructions or directions intended to bypass or subvert security measures, including passwords, locking mechanisms, fingerprint scans, etc., or to bypass any safety measures.

You need to contact an HP agent and explain the problem, or take the PC to an HP authorized repair center along with proof of ownership.
