My device died as it was in sleep mode and as I plugged it in to charge I noticed it was not charging and was stuck at 0%. After a while of waiting to make sure, it was still uncharged and I noticed the light beside the ports on the side of my laptop was white, which represents it is fully charged, rather than red, which shows it is charging. Upon more waiting and resetting, the issue persists. I have had a similar issue before and had to have a technical support member fix it. If I remember correctly, they had to download something from the website and install it to fix the issue. However, I can't seem to access a chat with a technical support member so I am leaving this hoping for answers.

@Hayden31, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP laptop not charging!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds like your HP Envy x360 is experiencing a charging detection issue, which could be related to software, firmware, or hardware. Since you've encountered this before and a technical support agent had to download something to fix it, it might have been a BIOS update or a driver update. Here are a few troubleshooting steps to try:
1. Hard Reset the Laptop
Since your device was in sleep mode when this happened, it might be stuck in a power state. Try a hard reset:
- Unplug the charger from the laptop.
- Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
- Plug the charger back in and try turning the laptop on.
2. Check the Battery and Charger
- Use a different power outlet.
- Try another HP-compatible charger if available.
- Inspect the charging port and cable for any damage.
3. Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for the Battery
- Turn off the laptop.
- Press the Power button and immediately start pressing F2 repeatedly until the HP Diagnostics menu appears.
- Select Battery Test and follow the instructions.
4. Update BIOS and Drivers
If the issue was fixed previously by downloading something, it might have been a BIOS update or a battery driver update.
- Visit the HP Software & Driver Downloads.
- Enter your laptop’s model (HP Envy x360 15-fe0000).
- Look for BIOS updates and chipset drivers and install them.

5. Reset Battery Drivers
- Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager.
- Expand Batteries and Uninstall both:
- Microsoft AC Adapter
- Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery
- Restart the laptop. Windows will reinstall them automatically.
Let me know if you need more guidance! 🚀
Take care, and have an amazing day!
