Hi @Anwaret,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy x360 13.3-inch 2-in-1 laptop is not charging its battery despite being connected to power, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
-
Check the Power Adapter:
- Ensure that the power adapter is securely plugged into both the laptop and the power outlet.
- Check for any visible damage on the power adapter or the power cord.
-
Inspect the Charging Port:
- Examine the charging port on the laptop for any dust, debris, or damage. If there's anything obstructing the connection, carefully clean it using compressed air or a small brush.
-
Try a Different Power Outlet:
- Plug the power adapter into a different power outlet to rule out issues with the outlet itself.
-
Power Cycle the Laptop:
- Shut down the laptop, disconnect it from the power source, and remove the battery (if possible). Hold down the power button for 15-20 seconds. Reconnect the battery and power, then turn on the laptop.
-
Update BIOS/UEFI:
- Check if there are any available updates for the laptop's BIOS/UEFI firmware. Manufacturers often release updates that can address charging issues.
-
Windows Power Settings:
- Navigate to the "Power & sleep settings" in Windows and check if there are any settings preventing the battery from charging. Adjust the settings as needed.
-
Device Manager:
- Open Device Manager and under "Batteries," uninstall the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" driver. Restart the laptop, and Windows should reinstall the driver.
-
HP Battery Health Check:
- Some HP laptops come with a built-in battery health check utility. Check your user manual or the HP website to see if your model has this feature and run the battery check.
-
BIOS/UEFI Battery Calibration:
- Some laptops have a battery calibration option in the BIOS/UEFI settings. Check your laptop's manual for instructions on calibrating the battery.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
