Bios Administrator Password

i can't access bios set-up of hp compaq 6730b.i have no hp spare key and i dont know the bios password.I want to change the boot sequence because my windows isn't booting because of corrupted windows.If you want i also have the serial number.

Contact HP and they should be able to send you a customized SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

Insert clean USB flash drive.

Then run USB Image tool.

Choose the flash drive then click on RESTORE.

After restore remove flash drive.

Insert flash drive into locked laptop and boot. ”If an HDD is installed remove before booting.”

At C:\OUTPUT   type CD..   “Then hit enter”

Type HPBR   “Then hit enter”

First thing is to save your settings.

Select #3 re-program.

Press “S” to save system information.

Type HPBR and hit enter.

Select   “FIRST RUN”

Then select model.

After reboot repeat same as above but this time SELECT, “SECOND RUN”

If you cannot boot from USB flash drive use Options in the Image tool to build a HDD.

Then use the drive to boot the program on the locked laptop.

All that is okay but the thing is i am not such an expert to understand the usb stuff so is there an easier way and also i am a bit scared hat i might loose my data or something while sing the method

No you will not lose any data because if you read the procedure you remove the HDD.

You have three choices the 2 posted above or replace the BIOS chip.
