Hi,

At the password screen, hit enter 3 times and you should receive a 'halt code' - post back with this code.

Hi , I entered three times, then I saw a star mark and none of the keys respond. How should I proceed now?

I am also facing the same case wherein I forgot my BIOS password. Please help.

Hi,

Unfortunately the hashing routine for any codes that start with a 'i' have changed, so at the moment your options are down to Contacting HP support.

or

You can still remove a power on password by removing the rtc cell, then holding down the power button for 60 seconds.  Leave the machine like this for a couple of hours, before re-inserting the rtc - the procedure for removing the rtc can be found on Page 32 of your Maintenance & Service Guide.
