I have a HP Spectre x360 15.6" laptop with Oled screen and 11th gen i7 and 16gb ram. I had wiped the original OS and installed a fresh version of Windows 11 and installed drivers from HP.com. I also have a recovery USB drive from HP with the original Windows 10 OS and all the drivers. I downloaded the latest BIOS update for Windows 11 direct from HP. It ran and installed the Bios update but when it rebooted it was just a black screen. I waited a long time and nothing happened. So I rebooted the computer and now I just get the same black screen. The device powers on and when it shuts down there is a little screen glitch so I know the screen is active. I also did the procedure with windows key and B and I get a message saying the Bios is corrupt or there is no BIOS installed. I went to HP website and downloaded the BIOS update and put it on a USB drive to recover the BIOS but I follow the steps and nothing happens and it is just a brick now! I am just a few months out of warranty. I have never had this happen and I have owned a lot of laptops and have installed many bios updates. The PC had power plugged in and a full charge as well. Please help.

Hi@Technerd108,
Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!
I see you are experiencing issues with the HP Spectre x360 laptop not booting to windows just goes to a black screen. I apologize for the Inconvenience.
If issue still persist then test the hard drive using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI to rule out other hard drive issues
- Start or restart the computer.
- Press F2 repeatedly during start up to enter the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI utility.
- Select Component Tests > Hard Drive > Quick Test.
- Click Run Once.
Once the test completes, results are displayed on the screen.
If the drive passes all tests, continue to restore a computer back to the factory default, which will isolate whether it’s a software or hardware issue.
If it is a hardware issue then I would request you to contact our HP Support Engineers and should be able to sort this out. HP provides repair or service options for out of warranty products as well. Hence I encourage you to contact HP support for all warranty service options.
Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options.
