15-bp152wm how long should it take for a bios update to complete? Mine has been runing for more than 1/2 hour with the Hp embem and the little dots circling below.

Perform a Hard reset

  1. Unplug everything, including power adapter, External mouse/keyboard, Flash drive
  2. Press and hold down the power button for 30-40 seconds
  3. Release the power button
  4. Plug in the AC adapter

If the Screen shows the BIOS update window with choices: Cancel/update, click on Cancel

If no options are provided, wait for the system to boot into windows or complete BIOS update.

 

Note: There are chances of PC not booting once the HArd reset is done. In that case, a BIOS recovery has to be performed.
