HP163AV
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop model is HP probook 6440b, product name is HP163AV, each time I want to enter bios settings, and I entered my bios admin password correctly 3 different times, a page with on screen keyboard will pop up, if I press enter on my keyboard the response I get is authentication failed press power button to restart. I have removed the CMOS battery for close to an hour, the password was not reset. The issue still remain. Please how do I go about this issue because I want to enable vt-x in my laptop. Thanks for your help

Hi:

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP will no longer supply the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.

That was the only way it could be done.

Removing the CMOS battery will not clear the P/W.

HP issued this document recently...

Also the forum rules were amended on 1 March 2019, which no longer allow us to help with removing passwords.
