I succesfully changed the bios chip of my EliteBook 8570w. New bios chip came without programmed serial numbers etc. New bios chip was in manufacture mode. After first attempt to edit the bios file with serial key, sku, model family etc., manufacture mode disappeared and never appeared after that time. It did not save those critical numbers either. How to succesfully do this without ordering a new chip? HP technical support of my country gave me zero help on this issue.

If someone is interest why I had to replace the bios chip is that I bought this as used machine from company with big discount because of missing boot password.

All help would be highly respected.

Hi

A very large download, circa 2.2 Gb I believe.

Hi, @AmirWaylon

The 4 in 1 diagnostics key will not be of any help to you.

You will need to take your notebook to a local HP PC repair shop where they should have a BIOS DMI tool that is used to tattoo the applicable information into the BIOS chip.

That is the only way it can be done.
