Pavilion dv6500
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hello to everybody. Please I need BIOS for hp Pavilion dv6500 product number rs085av (AMD Turion Processor). Unfortunately I've downloaded the wrong one and the bios update procedure was freezed. So first of all I need the right BIOS for this device (I cannot find in the HP server because it seems that this model is old and it is not the one that I've found, obviously). Then I'll try with HP recovery tool to restore it. Obviously if someone knows other better procedures to fix it please post them or address me in other posts. Thank you for your your help and attention

Hi:

Here is the correct BIOS file you need for your model notebook...

Info File:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52001-52500/sp52477.html

Exe file:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52001-52500/sp52477.exe

You cannot flash the BIOS using any other operating system except XP or Vista.

If you flashed the BIOS when using W7, that is the reason the notebook doesn't work anymore.

Unfortunately, I don't know how you can recover from your dilemma.

Dear Paul,

thank you for your reply and for the correct file. I'll try to recover it by using methods suggested in Hp (create a flash usb with the bios inside) and putting the bin file in the usb. At least, having the correct bios file is a good starting point. Thank you for the help

Found a working procedure:

1) download CRISDISK: http://www.mediafire.com/file/ywzzkjjmjjz/CRISDISK.zip

2) use a usb formatted as fat32, 16kb allocation unit size. Do not perform quick format. I used a common 8gb usb pendrive

3) extract the sp52477 with winrar or similar software

4) look for the file 30CFF34A.WPH this is the correct bios for this device

5) renale this file as BIOS.WPH, unzip the CRISDISK and copy this file into the CRISDISK folder

6) attach the formatted USB and run WINCRIS as administrator. click start and wait that the procedure is finished

7) attach the USB to the port close to the ac cable. Hold win + B and press power button for 2 seconds. release power button but keep held the other two buttons for other 1 or 2 seconds

😎 computer will start to emitt several beeps for 3 minutes until it will shut down by itself

9) remove ac usb and battery from the pc. Insert again battery and ac then power on the pc

this worked for me. Hope that it will be useful for other people that need it
