Hi,

My laptop is Bios protected, can someone help me on how to reset it?

Hi:

You will have to contact HP technical support for assistance with obtaining a SMC.bin file for your PC.

Worldwide business PC phone numbers...

You can see if the phone number listed for your country is still valid to call them.

After the call, the answer was this - contact the service center. All to create difficulty in recovery. Unlocking via SMC.bin - did not want to send

Sorry that HP couldn't/wouldn't help you.

Unfortunately, we can't hep you either for two reasons...

There are no back door passwords or codes for your PC's model series.

The only way to clear the password is to have HP send you the SMC.bin file.

As of March 1, 2019, we can no longer assist forum members with BIOS password recovery.

The forum rules of participation were amended to include this restriction.

There is no way out of your dilemma other than buying a new motherboard for your PC, or a new PC.
