I really have no idea. I am totally confused as to how you have any files on the new hdd when you never got it to boot from the Windows 10 USB to actually put anything on the hdd.

Dont know how it loaded but its loaded up now. Tried to do the bios update again this time in windows on the unit. It says flashing than verifying a couple times than it reboots. Still will not update from f13.
Bios still refuses to load windows on its own. Boot menu and load efi from file pulls it right up.
I guess thats what we need to figure out is why it wont move on from the old stuff saved in the boot menu and update to the new stuff. Ive had this nightmare on quite a few HP models in the past but all of them had a "Add efi boot option" in the bios where it would save it.
Ideas on the bios issue?

1-Of the numerous mysteries you have going on I don't have an inkling about most of it. Very odd to say the least. The biggest of which is how the heck Windows files got on a blank hdd without booting from installation media.😂
2-If it were my laptop, I would probably try creating the Windows 10 USB from it. Just to rule out it picking up some oddity from the other machine. You never did say if the other machine has UEFI or legacy BIOS.
3-The BIOS not updating is another pretty odd one. Usually even if you can't do it within Windows it will work using the BIOS usb recovery. At the very least you will usually get a failure message or a message saying the BIOS version is blocked.
4-Try a hard reset on the laptop to see if it clears all of the saved stuff. Guess your battery is not removeable? If not just unplug power cord and hold the power button for 20-30 seconds before trying to startup up again.

Tried the battery thing before. I still got the bottom off from the hard drive.
So I tried the bios update a couple more times. Than i got a black screen.
Can get it into the bios recovery but it still refuses to take any bios or try to start again. 😕
