Black Screen Problem

I changed the Video adapter setting in BIOS to external GPU in the advanced bios settings.(changed from onboard/internal to external), ever since the notebook starts up with a black screen(system displays black color,not like turning off the display). The power light and caps lock buttons flash. As I can't see anything onscreen I can't recover BIOS to the previous state either.

@shd555 I suggest you start with attempting a BIOS recovery using the steps mentioned in this link: click here for instructions,

Once done, the device should boot into windows, if it doesn't, please perform a hardware test using the below steps:

• Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
• Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
• On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
• Click Extensive Test.
• Click Run once, or Loop until error.
• While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.

If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.

Your solution would have worked if I could see the BIOS in display.

I took out the CMOS Battery and reset the BIOS ,, it worked.
