Product: Envy x 360

I was working on my laptop, and the screen suddenly went blank. I tried to shut the computer down and restart it. However, it doesn't want to turn off. The power led is on but I cannot hear the fans. Also, the screen is black but not off. So I can't tell if the laptop is on or not.  How should I go about restarting it and getting the screen to work again?
