I was mid-assignment with my homework when my screen turned black and gave me the following message:
boot device not found
please install an operating system on your hard disk
hard disk(3FO)
F2 system diagnostics
for more information, please visit: www.hp.com/go/techcenter/startup
I pressed F2, and got this:
version 1.24.0.0-BIOS
for more information, please visit: www.hp.com/go/tech center/PCDiags
my options were:
memory test
hard drive check
language
exit
i chose memory test and ran a memory quick check, my only option, for an hour, with no issues found. It’s says
memory quick check:passed
I ran a hard drive check, and chose the quick check option. It said
no hard drive installed. Please check that the power and data cables are connected properly.
when I chose the extensive check, it said the same thing.
When I click exit, and then yes, it takes me back to the original black screen with the F2 diagnostics message on it. Even when I turn my computer off and then back on, I am unable to get past this screen. Please help. Thanks in advance.
