HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 13-ay0015no

My computer ( HP envy x360 13”) suddenly stopped working yesterday when i was just about to visit youtube.com. At first the computer showed me a blue screen with ”unexpected” as a part of the error code. I turned the laptop off and now i am stuck with a black screen and caps lock blinking 5 long and 3 short. (The computer starts lighting up and the fans goes on) I have tried to take out the battery, holding windows+b when powering and other such combinations. Nothing seems to help. I even tried downloading bios from hp’s website on a usb-drive. 

Thanks in advance for any help i can get!

Please try a hard reset and see if it works.


   1. Power off your laptop
   2. Remove the a/c adapter, battery and everything that is attached to your laptop.
   3. Hold the 'POWER' button down on your laptop for about 10 seconds.
   4. Plug in the a/c power supply (without battery) and power on.

By your blinking description -

The red light blinks five times, and then three, short white light blinks (5 long red, 3 short white)

This condition indicates that the component cannot be not reached by the BIOS within the established time limit.

  1. Reseat the component.

  2. Test your system with a known good component.

  3. Contact HP Customer Support for further assistance to replace the component or system board if the issue persists.

Do we need to attach the peripherals except battery before connecting AC source and 

holding power button or after I didn't understood please help me!

my experience with the same issue, for a HP Spectre X360, was that I had also to disconnect the button battery
