@Nagondragon, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding black screen!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
BIOS recovery typically takes 5 to 10 minutes, but in some cases, it might take up to 30 minutes depending on the system and the severity of the issue. Since it has been over 30 minutes and the screen is still black, here are some steps you can try:
1. Check for Signs of Activity
- Do you see the Caps Lock light blinking or hear fan noise?
- Is the power light on?
- If there’s any activity but no display, try connecting an external monitor to check if the issue is with the laptop screen.
2. Force Restart
If the recovery process is stuck:
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to force shutdown.
- Disconnect any external devices (USB drives, peripherals, etc.).
- Try restarting the laptop and see if the screen turns on.
3. Retry BIOS Recovery
If the black screen persists:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Press and hold Windows + B keys, then press the power button for about 3-5 seconds, then release the power button but keep holding Windows + B until you see the BIOS recovery screen.
4. Hard Reset (CMOS Reset)
If nothing works, you might need to reset the BIOS:
- Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
- Hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power.
- Reconnect the power and try turning it on again.
Let me know if you need further guidance!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
