Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂
Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have an HP ENVY Sleekbook 6-1090ee and it shows a blue screen when powered on. The laptop works fine in safe mode. This is indeed a very good observation by you.
Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.
Let us perform the following steps to isolate and fix the issue:
- Please start the laptop in safe mode and perform a Microsoft System Restore.
- Please perform the steps mentioned under "Restoring Windows 7 to a previous point" from this HP document: http://hp.care/2tp4GpW
Post a successful Microsoft System Restore if the issue persists then please refer to the information in "Symptom: Error message displays on a blue screen" from this HP document: http://hp.care/2G9hZkE
I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Let me know how it goes.
I'm always here to help.
All the best! 🙂

Hi Mkazi!
Thanks for your reply. I followed your advice and unfortunately. It still happened. What I did was to use the safe mode and disabled the Radeon 7670 graphics driver on the device manager. It worked but I really looked different and my laptop slowed down. Please kindly help again...
Regards,

You're welcome. 🙂
The reason the graphics looked different is because the AMD Radeon 7670 drivers were uninstalled. Without these drivers, the display usually looks like that.
Secondly, you may use the AMD Driver Autodetect tool. The AMD Driver Autodetect tool is designed to detect the model of graphics card and version of operating system installed in your computer: http://hp.care/2G1WhiH
Once the AMD Driver Autodetect tool successfully installs the AMD drivers, you may restart your laptop once and check the performance.
If the laptop does not boot in normal mode, then try starting in the safe mode and check. This way you may also test the performance of the laptop in safe mode.
Keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂
