HP 15-r052nr Notebook PC (Energy Star)
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Didn't use this laptop for two months and one morning I couldn't have windows launch completely...one I ran the "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI" the "SMART Check "Passed" but the "Long DST" failed and generated the ID number 67PS2K-7GNA2Q-XD7V6K-61DQ03. The computer stops responding and displays this message: "Boot Device Not Found 3F0". I appreciate any help anyone can offer!! Stuck in Tampa!!!

Hi:

The error code reported, Hard Disk 1 Full Test Failure, means the hard drive needs to be replaced, and the operating system reinstalled.

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

After you replace the drive, you can reinstall W8.1 for free by downloading the plain W8.1 64 bit ISO file from the link below.

Use the Microsoft tool that I zipped up and attached below that you will need to transfer the ISO file to a DVD so that it is bootable.

After W8.1 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

Thanks much for the information you’ve provided. I’ve reviewed the attachments and feel that this tasking may just be too overwhelming for me...once again, thank you for all the research you have done for me!
