Product: HP-ay196nr
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)
Error message displayed as "Boot Device Not Found". I have tried restarting, removing the battery, running a quick check on the Hard Drive (which results indicate "Hard Drive not detected", in turn, not letting me run an extensive check), resetting to default settings by pressing the F10 key, and I'm still receiving the same error.
A little help, please.

Hi,
Do a hard reset and check again:
http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01684768
Try reseating hard drive, use this manual - page 43, for instructions to reach HDD bay:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05122688
Mostly hard drive is failing or has failed. You may have to replace it with a new one of similar form factor. Please contact HP in your region if you're within warranty, they would do it free of cost.
Do you have recovery USB created after first setup of this laptop?
Have you backed up data. If not, take out the HDD, connect it to another PC using SATA to USB adapter. Then use explorer to copy the files you need.
Regards
Visruth

Hello Visruth,
Thanks much for your words of advise, I reseated the hard drive and no longer received the message. Hopefully, I no longer have the problem, however, I will have a recovery USB available, in case it fails in the future.
Best regards,
Jess.
