Hi @LucaFrantz,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I'm sorry to hear about the frustrating boot and sleep mode issues you're facing with your laptop, especially after updating the BIOS—it can be incredibly disruptive when basic functionality is affected.
- Have you experienced any error messages or beeping sounds during boot attempts or when the laptop fails to wake from sleep?
- Does the laptop exhibit the same behavior when running solely on battery or charger, or is the issue consistent in both scenarios?
- Have you recently installed any new hardware or software that might coincide with these issues?
Let's try these steps.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Disconnect all external devices and unplug the charger.
- Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to drain any residual power.
- Reconnect the charger, power it on, and see if the boot issue persists.
Reset BIOS Settings:
- Access the BIOS menu during startup by pressing F10 repeatedly.
- Once in the BIOS, choose Restore Defaults or Load Optimized Defaults, then save and exit.
- Restart the laptop and check if the issue is resolved.
Disable Fast Startup in Windows:
- Open Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
- Click Change settings that are currently unavailable, then uncheck Turn on Fast Startup.
- Save changes, restart the system, and test boot and sleep functionality.
Reinstall or Repair Chipset Drivers:
- Visit the HP Support website for your specific laptop model.
- Download and install the latest chipset drivers and Intel Management Engine Interface (IMEI) drivers, which can resolve power-related issues.
Perform a BIOS Recovery:
- Create a BIOS recovery USB drive using the HP BIOS Update tool, which can be downloaded from the HP Support site.
- Boot the laptop with the USB drive inserted and follow the recovery prompts. This can sometimes resolve corrupted BIOS-related behavior.
If the problem persists, contacting HP phone support might be necessary for further assistance.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
