Boot issue

I have a laptop that has been developing issues that are getting worse. Today, it went from booting o the Automatic Error system to being able to ONLY get to the BIOS set up then a black screen, never getting to the HP screen. I removed the hard derive and pulled data directly from it with  my external interface system. I have also run Windows Defender on the drive and found no viruses, etc.

What is causing the issues with this laptop? What can I do to find the root cause of the issues then  repair them?

Hi
First:- Turn off the computer, press and hold the PWR button for 4 seconds.

Then - Leave only keyboard and mouse connected, disconnect all externally connected
devices such as Docking Station, USB storage devices, displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

Next - Press and Hold the Power button for 15 seconds to Hard Reset.
Rinse and Repeat; Re-Connect the AC adapter.

NOW begin checking/testing/proving the Hardware is fit for purpose.
Power on your PC, press ESC (repeatedly), then F2 at the prompt.
Choose System Tests (Fast Test does a 4 minute hardware check).

Thanks! The the Fast Test failed on the hard drive short DST check. The failure ID is "m4nf3g-8lja07-xd7x6k-60qm03 on product x7t50a##aba. What does that mean? What is my next step?

I am running the individual tests. The USB test also failed, number m4nf3g-8lja07-xd7x6k-8d6m03 with product x7t50ua##aba.

Hi

That's a hard disk failure, you will need to replace the hard disk and all the software.

What recovery media do you have?

W8 andW10 will offer to skip the key entry and do it automatically afterwards.

Doing research, and none of the methods are mine, I have some, simple single lines of code that will list the same value for your Windows 10 Product Key…
Two for Windows 10 and one for Linux.

W10 Using cmd.exe as an Administrator (copy and paste accordingly).

wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey >> c:\ProdKey.txt

Creates a text file called ProdKey.txt on your C:\ area.

Next is a PowerShell command, as Administrator...
(Get-WmiObject -query ‘select * from SoftwareLicensingService’).OA3xOriginalProductKey

but it will run within W10 using cmd.exe as an Administrator.
powershell (Get-WmiObject -query ‘select * from SoftwareLicensingService’).OA3xOriginalProductKey

Last, but not least....
