Hi @RafDude,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP laptop is stuck in a boot loop. Since the recovery USB hasn’t helped, there could be several potential causes. Here's a troubleshooting guide to help identify the issue.

Power Reset the Laptop

  • Turn off the laptop and disconnect all peripherals (USB drives, external devices).
  • Unplug the charger and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to fully discharge any remaining power.
  • Plug the charger back in (without the battery if it's removable) and try to turn the laptop on again.

Check for Hardware Issues

  • RAM issues can cause boot loops. If you're comfortable, try reseating the RAM.
  • If you recently added or upgraded RAM, it may not be compatible or properly seated.
  • Ensure the hard drive (HDD/SSD) is properly connected.

Enter BIOS

  • Press Esc, F2, or F10 (depending on your model) while the laptop is booting to access the BIOS menu.
  • Check if the laptop recognizes the hard drive or SSD. If not, the drive may be faulty or disconnected.
  • While in BIOS, ensure the boot order prioritizes the internal hard drive or your recovery USB if you are using one.

Try Safe Mode

  • Turn on the laptop and repeatedly press F8 (or Shift + F8) to try booting into Safe Mode.
  • If successful, you can check for driver issues, malware, or software conflicts.

Use a Different Recovery Method

  • If the recovery USB isn’t working, try creating another bootable USB or Windows Installation Media using a different method, such as Microsoft’s Media Creation Tool on a different computer. Follow the steps to reinstall Windows.
  • Reboot from the USB and select Repair your computer from the installation menu to attempt a system repair.

Check for a Faulty Hard Drive/SSD

  • If the BIOS recognizes your drive, but you're still in a loop, the drive itself might be corrupted.
  • You can attempt to run diagnostics on your laptop by entering BIOS and looking for Diagnostics or HP Hardware Diagnostics. Run a test on the hard drive.

Last Resort: Full Reinstallation

  • If nothing works, consider doing a full clean installation of Windows. This will erase all data, so ensure any important files are backed up if possible.
  • Boot from a Windows installation USB and select Custom Installation to reinstall Windows.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
