Hi @Ashwin_346,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like there might be an issue with the factory reset process, and it could have led to corruption in the system files or boot configuration. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the computer.
  • Disconnect all peripheral devices and the power cord.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to drain residual electrical charge.
  • Reconnect the power cord and restart the computer.

Boot into BIOS/UEFI:

  • Turn off the computer.
  • Turn it back on and immediately start pressing the ESC key or another key (e.g., F10, F12) to enter the BIOS or UEFI settings.
  • Once in BIOS/UEFI, check if the hard drive is recognized. If not, there may be a hardware issue.

Boot from a Windows Installation or Recovery Media:

  • If you have a Windows installation USB or DVD, insert it into the computer.
  • Restart the computer and boot from the installation media.
  • Choose the repair option and try the following commands in the Command Prompt:

chkdsk /f /r C:

sfc /scannow

System Restore:

  • If you have a restore point created before the factory reset, you can try restoring your system to that point.
  • Boot from a Windows installation or recovery media, choose the repair option, and then navigate to System Restore.

Reinstall Windows:

  • If none of the above steps work, you may need to reinstall Windows. Use the Windows installation media to perform a clean install.

Please note that reinstalling Windows will result in the loss of data on your PC, so make sure to back up any important files if possible.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
